Canine Officer Rex suffered from a fractured canine while on duty retrieving drugs from a vehicle
A root canal was performed on the dying tooth. This involves removing diseased pulp tissue, filing and shaping the canal, sterilizing it and placing the filler material and sealant.
After the root canal procedure the crown is prepared with a special dental bur to shape the tooth for a cast metal alloy crown.
The crown will protect the tooth from further trauma and provide an extract seal over the restoration at the fracture site.
